Anyone seen any of these before?

    Yes, in many different collections.

Yes. Many times. I've been marking them Artifacts. It moves in an "upside down T" or "backwards L" pattern. Starts at 1-the Intersection, 2-goes up, 3-down and to the right slightly below the point 1, and then 4- left and slighly highr than point 1.

Sometimes it feels like I'm hunting the "T" instead of the asteroids.

Yeah they seem to be pretty common

I've now seen things like this many times. Obviously some kind of artifact, but what? And how are they caused?

Back in IceHunters, 'black holes' like this were kinda the negative of bright moving objects in 'nearby' frames. But I'm not sure the way these images work would produce similar 'black holes'.

    Anyone?

There are most likely dust particles in the telescope optics or on the CCD chip itself. They move because the telescope is pointed slightly off between individual frames (telescope dithering) to make them move in irregular (non-linear) pattern, so they can be easily distinguished as artifacts
