Scroll wheel to scrub?

Ok so by now I've read up and figured out that scrubbing quickly in inverted is by far the easiest way to tell differences between frames.
The only ways to scrub are to hold and drag the mouse or use the L and R arrow keys, both of which are fairly wrist-intensive. I wouldn't mind a touch of carpal tunnel if it meant I found an asteroid but surely... wouldn't scrolling the mouse wheel to scrub be better?

Oh and while I'm suggesting bright ideas you thought of months ago (been reading!) how about an extreme zoom function so we can hit the center of blips more accurately? Zooming the page makes it hard to find your place and to scrub, if there was a way of zooming in on the cursor with a key press you could hover over the blip and zoom right in...
