When the background is so hazy and seems to move so much its hard to tell what is a meteor and what isnt. Do you mark them any way.

Sets with high noise & imperfectly aligned stars can be hard, but I usually mark an asteroid if I see a spot moving relative to the noise.

Is it unusual to have many many asteroids marked in the same picture. what about the ones that disappear and come back into view

Have seen a few sets with 2-4 asteroids in a set. This set is not aligned well, so every star is moving slightly between each frame.

Asteroids would need to be in all 4 frames moving noticeably in a straight line relative to the motion the stars in this poorly aligned set.

A bright spot in just 1 or 2 frames are either noise (like the 'TV static' this image set has) or in clearer sets, artifacts like hot pixels
